Unchanged!!!

October 10, 2007

Greetings!!! This blog is posted on behalf of The Word In The Streetz Magazine!!! This is a magazine that was started because of a desire to see change. As a Worshiper, I desire to see things change. A worshiper hears from the heart of God and feels what He feels and wants what God wants. God has given the Worshiper a desire to press towards a mark and to help others reach the same place. I really pray that this Magazine is a blessing to you all and that you will be changed or motivated to make a change as you read about others like you! Be blessed…Samuel…..The Worshiper!!!

Unchanged
Oct 08, 07
By Samuel
Recently, I was downtown Washington DC, it just happened to be the day where two separate groups of protestors decided to gather and march the streets. These two groups had two separate missions; one was to support the war and to protest for more troop support and the other group, was protesting the war, those for the war and President Bush.
These groups both have logical arguments and both came with them on their shirts, their signs and banners. I saw signs saying, support the troops and send the money. Support the troops, bring them home. No more Vietnams. The predominate theme visible was supporting the troops, both seemed to agree that is a vital element, but their ideas of how to support them is where they differed in thoughts.
It is clear that they all came out to voice an opinion and each wanted to be heard. Yet, if you were there you would have wondered yourself if anyone heard. The police barricaded the roads for protestors; that seemed to be looking more like a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, rather then a protest! There were groups in nice cars, on motorcycles, bands and more. There were many marching with signs, some chants and cheers.
The tourists had a little more to see then usual and were able to watch one of the great things about America as it happened, freedom of speech. The whole event “SEEMED” well planned and organized. It had an appearance of purpose and drive motivating the people, but the aftermath told a different story!
The protestors came; they took off of work, changed their schedules, traveled to DC, and many other things, even some colleges were there for the protest; and yet all had ONE thing in common…they left without a change! Nothing changed, them or the thing being protested. These people came out and did not even get a reply! No, “we’ll think about it”, “consider it” or even an official acknowledgement from the Government. They left the way they came and making it worse, the situation stayed the same.
They wasted their time, voices and money. How can I say this? You should have seen how quick they vanished after the protest was over, the streets covered with protestors signs, that had been thrown down after the protest. The trashcans were full of signs on posts, signs and other protest handouts. Literally, thousands of dollars was all around in trashed or disposed protestor’s propaganda. They wasted the gas driving around the city, wasted tax payers money for security re-enforcement and much more.
All of these thousands of people gathered together as one voice, could not make a change? Logically this goes against the saying, “It takes just one person to make a change.” How can one person make a change and thousands cannot?
What I saw that day, proved the importance of, “it’s not always what you say, how you say it, but rather, it is who you know, that helps your voice be heard.” These people came and voiced their thoughts to the government of the United States and could not even get an answer. They knew there was a governing body that they needed to tell what they thought, but they never really talked to anyone. The President was not invited to hear them out, or to hear their concerns. They just assembled at a general location and started shouting their demands and complaints.
It isn’t like their words were ignorant or anything, they just didn’t have an audience with anyone that could hear them and do something about it. The people had catchy clichés and chants that sounded great! They had words and sayings to quote and even had the escort of the police to do it. Yet the question remains to be asked… What did they do wrong or what else could they have done?
That answer is simple; they did not know the one person that COULD make the change! If you want to get a bus ticket, you must go to a bus station. Upon arrival to the bus station there are still other places and people you must see and know to get your ticket. If you want to get a ticket, you don’t walk to a bus driver and say I need a ticket to Detroit. He may laugh at you because one, the bus is going to New York and two, you did not go to a ticket counter to purchase it. You must know who to go to, in order to get your bus ticket. What they did is comparable to asking the bus driver for a ticket. They went to assemble, but didn’t know the person they needed to know.
Which leads me to the point of my writing this article; everything boils down to who and what you know. They had the words, signs and numbers…but there was no power to change. They stated their thoughts and complaints but to the wrong person. These people came out, had all they needed. The ticket buyer had their luggage and the money needed for a ticket; but all of that is wasted, since he went to the wrong person. This person couldn’t get a ticket and might have missed their bus because of this. The protestors had all they needed and offered it to the wrong person.
What they should have done is assembled together and PRAYED to the Father in Jesus Name and God would have answered! If just one of these protestors would have had just a “little bit” of knowledge they could have made a big change. God said where two or three are gathered together He’s in the midst and just before that He said if two or three agree on anything and pray to the Father in His name, that the Father will HEAR from heaven and do it. Can you imagine this is just three people God is talking about when He said ANYTHING!!! He told us just ASK! Think about this there were thousands downtown that day, can you imagine the thing God would do if that many people would have called on Him to do it? The war could have ended that moment! Yet nothing changed, why? They didn’t know the one person able to make a change!
The sad thing is that there are millions of Christians that do this same thing daily. We know there is a God and He is over all, yet do we “KNOW” Him? So many saints will pray and seemingly not get an answer so they give up and throw their prayers away. They get discouraged and wonder if things will ever work out. They come and use their well devised clichés and chant them really loud believing they will be heard…Jesus spoke of the Pagans doing this, thinking they will be heard because of their many words. Jesus said that they have a reward, but it is not from God. Jesus goes on to tell us how then we are to pray…Our Father, Who art in heaven, hollowed be Thy name…
The point of this whole article is to show you that if you want to make a change you must know the right person to make the change. If my refrigerator is empty and I want to change that, I go to the grocery store, select my items and proceed to the person I know that can allow me to make that change…the cashier at the register. If I want to see my life change, I must go to the one that gave it. If I want to see my finances change, I must go to the One that can increase them, though He may tell me to ask for a raise, God still told me what to do and gave me favor with my boss to get it. For change to come you must know the right person. The purpose of The Word in The Streetz Magazine is to see change, bring change and make changes in our lives, the lives of everyone we meet and especially our reader’s lives. How can we do this? The first and most effective way is by bringing Jesus Christ into the lives of the community or individual. Secondly, we help change things by putting the information into the hands of the person that is able to make the change. We are kind of like the minister or pastor that reminds you to pray and acknowledge Jesus in all you do and go through. And even directs you by telling you where to go to get your answers. We are those that desire to make a change…
Like the protestors that wanted to make a change, we hit the streets, in many forms trying to share the Gospel of Christ and make a change. The main difference between us and the protestors is; WE KNOW who to go to!!! For those that do read this you can make a change; in the Iraq war, your life, in the world and everywhere. YOU CAN MAKE A CHANGE, but to do so you have to pray! Calling on Him is the only way you can get the results you’re looking for. You will be changed, situations will be changed and your time will be well spent.
As I close I want to leave this thought with you…It doesn’t matter how much you pay; as long as you give something more than what is required, you will get some change! Be blessed!!!

An Aching Heart

October 7, 2007

An Aching Heart
Written by Samuel, on 10/6/07.

I have to confess some things are often on my mind. This poetic work lets you in it to see, one of the things that I constantly dream. I do God’s work, yet I admit I am a man. I dream of being a father and having a life, where it’s God, me, my wife and kids. So, as a special treat, I unveil the secret thoughts of a Worshiper!!! Those things most don’t tell…stories of an Aching Heart of a Worshiper.

An Aching Heart

I sit and think about my life,
I know something is missing causing my heart to ache,
I know what it is or rather who,
It is my God sent wife,
I may not yet know who you are,
I just know it is something I await,
The joining together two hearts that have ached,
Two hearts that are to be pieced into one,

I know it will be awesome to finally see,
the rest of my vision, our destiny,

I write this poem as an expression of my heart,
Because I can’t stand to see us apart,
This work may seem to have no direction,
But to me this is the next best thing, to being with God in heaven,

This aching heart causes me to write,
It’s Watching and waiting for the day to come,
That two destinies become one,

See this is my desire, this is the start,
Of me to you, the unveiling of my heart,

I am a man with my purpose in sight,
To take you to be my wife,
Like Jesus, I can say, I am coming like a thief in the night,
To take you away from this life you know,
And bring you into a whole new world,
It may not seem to be much, but it’s what I gladly offer,
A life together, spreading the Lord’s Gospel,

It was Him you see that lead me to see,
You are the only one for me,
I know this is long, but it is my heart,
What I dream about is our family’s start,
By the joining together of the missing part,
The other half…of my aching heart!!!

The Streets of Destiny

Streets of Destiny

Written by Samuel on 10/5/07, while walking the streets of D.C.

Sometimes a Worshiper finds themself walking and exploring places they have never been.  They don’t always understand the reason or the purpose.  They do know that it is a part of God’s plan for them, their destiny.  A worshiper must be willing to step out and even walk in places of destiny before the promises are even fulfilled.  To me I feel it is kinda like spying out the land.  I want to know how to get around in the promised land.  I want to know what road leads me there, or which road will give me more opportunities to fulfill my destiny.  Where can I minister and give Him the most glory!  I felt as I walked around my destiny, that it was time to write and share a little of my life.  I am a worshiper and I have a promise, but I know I cannot just sit around and ever reach my place.  I have to work and put my faith to action, instead of just waiting.  So. my feet I follow as I am lead by the Lord.  Truthfully, I want to know where the Lord is leading me.  So many times, He has blessed me to find something amazing and something awesome to do.  Tonight my purpose is to share this with you.  Sometimes we find ourselves searching and seeking hoping to discover, the very thing that will take us into the happily ever after.  God’s Word is true and He knows the plans, that He has for you….  Trust in Him to bring it to pass and while you wait…explore the streets of your DESTINY!!!Be blessed…Samuel….The Worshiper!!!

The Streets of Destiny10/05/07

Every time I can, I go for a walk,

I walk all over the city, walking the streets of my destiny,

I walk and look, I wait for what I am to find,

There is a destiny, that I know is mine,

There is a work I am to perform,

So, mile after mile, I walk on,

I walk the city, the city is big,

Just like the destiny I am to live,

I walk past the White House, anticipating my invitation,

I know one day I have to speak, with the leader of this nation,

I walk the streets and see what I see,

Occasionally stopping by my favorite place, for some coffee,

I don’t usually run into, someone I know,

By the people I meet, somehow I’m known,

I walk the streets of the our Nation’s Capitol,

Looking for a chance to share the Lord’s Gospel,

My destiny’s in Christ, the streets of DC is my start,

The nations are next, His name I proclaim,

My destiny is tell others of the Gospel that saves,

There is no other God save He,

My destiny is telling of His love for you and me,

His name is Jesus and His story I tell,

I love to tell how He saved me from hell,

So if you see me walking down the nations streets,

Stop me and say hi, don’t just pass me by,

For it is not by chance, that we would meet,

You would happen to be, a part of my destiny,

It is the Savior’s will that we meet, on the streets of destiny,

So, to all I am to meet and to you that I will speak…

See you on the streets of Destiny!!!

A guide to Journaling

October 2, 2007

Journaling

26 February 2007

By Samuel

Journaling is writing down or typing a variety of things, from prayers to revelations and everything in-between.  If you type be sure to have back up copies of your work.  It is something that has really blessed me in my walk with God.

It started out with me just writing my prayers on a piece of paper, it then developed to writing in special prayer notebooks and then it went to writing anything and everything into notebooks.  I would right down any question, I would later check it out.  I would write down things that happened to me, any vision, dream or revelation I had.  I would write any message God gave me or wanted me to give to someone and even just random thoughts or subjects I wanted to know more about.  I know how it gets for me and I am sure you may be the same way; I get busy or I forget things quick.

So, I picked up journaling, it really helps in many ways.  It helps you to learn the word as God gives you revelations and you will always have it to look at later and study.  Many times when you go back and reread them God shows you something else that you didn’t see before or He will take a few different things He gave you and combine it to one!

Journaling your prayers are so awesome, because it causes your prayers to become more intimate with God!  When you journal your prayers, you concentrate more on what you say, you don’t repeat stuff, it is able to keep you awake when you are tired, it helps you to go back and see how God has answered the prayers and thus it builds your faith!    Plus, you can write by the prayers the date they came to pass.

Journaling your prayers can lead you to strategic prayers, you don’t just say things aimlessly, and you write/pray specific things.  This helps you when you pray, to develop into an actual prayer, from the average…hallelujah, thank you Jesus…Glory…Your will be done…Oh God…ummmmmmm… yes Lord…I hear you Lord…My Lord…Touch and many other words that we use that are simply meaningless word that sound good!   Those aren’t prayers, they are just words!  We must be specific and so that is why when you write them it causes your mind to focus in on what you are doing.

You can write how you feel, like you would in a journal, but instead of staying dear journal and talking to something that cant speak back, you would be talking to God; and He both talks back and listens to your prayers.

Your Prayer may be short few sentences or long and take up many pages.  It depends on you and what you have time to do.

If while you are writing and things keep coming to your mind and are distractive, write them down somewhere else, you want them out of your view.  Once you have written them down they will not come back to your mind again, your subconscious lets it go and you will be able to pray more efficiently.  Those things you have written down should not just be dismissed as your own thoughts, sometimes God will speak to you these things so that you will not forget them or that you can do something about them, at a later time, you will be able to look at these things later and deal with them with a clear mind.

As you develop this style of praying you may “see”, “feel” or “believe” that God is speaking to you, YOU ARE CORRECT!!!  Don’t ever doubt that God is talking to you!  He is talking to everyone that will listen.

What is prayer?  It is communication with God.  Communication works like this; you pick up your telephone and call a friend.  They may answer the phone with, “Hi!”, “What’s up?” or any other words to acknowledge the answering of the phone.  That’s when you give a reply and usually open up the conversation and lead it into the reason you called them.  Both people; you and your friend are speaking or listening.  That is communication, listening and speaking when it is appropriate.  It would not be communication if you start speaking and never give you friend a chance to speak before you hang up the phone.

That is what many of us do to God, we call Him up and tell Him what we want and hang up the phone.  We don’t wait or even give Him a chance to reply.  We never had real communication with Him, otherwise we may have heard Him say, I don’t want you to do that, I have something better for you to do.  That is why there are so many discouraged in the Body of Christ, they aren’t hearing from God.  They are talking but not giving God an opportunity to talk back.  So, in your journaled prayers expect God to speak back to you and instead of just listening to Him, write what you hear Him speaking to you.

A question that may come to mind is…How do I know if I am hearing Him?  Well, that can be decided as you listen to what you hear.  You will hear three different people speaking and you must discern who is speaking.  Most times these voices sound just like the thoughts in our head and that is the reason so many believe they are not hearing from God!  They don’t listen to what is being said.

The three different people that you will hear are; God, the devil and you.  You can tell which is which most times as you listen and discern what is being said.  God will never speak outside of the Word of God, by that I mean, He will not say one thing that contradicts His Word!  He will not say it is ok to do something that goes against His commandments.  God will either answer your prayer, give you something else to pray about or give you direction.  Please don’t limit God when it comes to hearing what He will say.  Sometimes He may tell us things about us that He wants us to change, or even He may tell us to stop doing something or even to go on a fast about it.  There are no limits to what He can say, within the Word of God!  Obviously, as He is talking to you it will differ from what He told someone else in the Bible as far as exact words and situations, but the principles will be the same.  God does speak and if you are seeking Him, He will be found and definitely heard.

The other voice which will be most predominate, is your own.  You have many thoughts that run through your mind and if you are living holy when you hear yourself it is sometimes hard to differentiate who it is you or God.  But as you listen it will most often reveal who it is.  You hear your questions, your desired answers, your desires of your heart, you’re replaying of events that have happened, and you’re recalling of things you have heard and you many times were not paying to close of attention to what you heard and when it became quiet it brought back what you heard.  The things you hear will deal with many different things because this is you communicating with yourself.  Our brain reminds us of things we were supposed to do, or it reminds us of up and coming events.  The brain helps us out and it does this the best when it is quiet and there are no distractions around.  So, during these times you will hear your thoughts and concerns, these are what we also write down to alleviate our mind from constantly bringing it to our attention to keep us from forgetting completely.  You must know what you think and say to yourself when using discernment.  Does this sound like me?  Do I speak like this on the norm?  Did I already know or hear this?  What was I doing when I heard this?  What is this trying to tell me?  Does it go with the Word of God?  Always ask questions if your not sure, because this will help you to discern who you are hearing.

And lastly, the devil, he is NOT the one talking to us most times.  He is not like God, Omnipresent; he can only be in one place at a time, though he can move very fast.  Most times you are hearing one of his demons.  They will talk and try to mimic God and even you.  These demons are very deceptive and their sole purpose is to pervert what you hear.  They are there to bring confusion; many times they will bring a similar thought as this, “YOU didn’t really hear God speak, that was just your imagination! Some younger saints and even some older hear, “God is not even real or who are you that God would speak to you?”  When ever someone hears things like this, they can be absolutely sure that it is the devil!  If you ever have those thoughts, I did, tell the devil and his demons this, “If God is not real and He doesn’t speak to me, WHY ARE YOU?”  That demon leaves in a hurry, cause to say one more thing proves he was there and proves God is real.  They don’t like it when that happens.  For me when I hear the devil and his demons, they sound louder than any other voice I hear.  They are obnoxious sounding, they sometimes are really mean sounding, they always saying you can’t, they are always talking you down, they are out to kill your faith!  So, when ever you hear one of the demons speaking, tell them get behind you in Jesus Christ’s name and DON’T LISTEN TO THEM!!!

There are many great books out that can help you when it comes to hearing God speak.  The more you hear God the better you will become at knowing God’s voice and the better you will become at knowing whose voice you are hearing.

Once the concept of journaling your prayers and God’s responses has been grasped, you will be free from depending on others in helping you hear from God!  The journaling actually becomes a gift from God that helps us in our daily walk.  Some find it hard to just sit and pray, others don’t like to be silent, but speak out when they pray.  Yet others may not have a problem praying like this, but find their mind wondering whenever something catches their attention.  This is why journaling is so convenient; you can carry your notebook where ever you go.  For some there may be some free time while riding a bus, this is an opportune time, pull out the notebook and begin to write.  Saying your prayers does not just have to be in the night.  To some their notebook becomes their prayer closet, the place they meet God!  It is up to the individual, but the possibilities are the same, journaling your prayers will engage the brain.  You will see so much more than you ever did before, as a result of your faith increase!  Your faith will increase and your prayers will too, you may even find the desire to seek God has too!

This is just a brief explanation of journaling, many have written entire books about hearing God and writing things down.  The scripture where I find the concept of journaling is in Habakkuk 2:1-4.  Write the vision and make it plain, can it get any simpler than that?  It is God showing Habakkuk that if he will only write, that God will speak.  In verse 1, Habakkuk was saying I will stand my watch; I will pay attention when I pray to see just what the Lord will say.  He even said if the Lord reproved him what would he say?  Habakkuk knew what he hears from God may not always be what he wants to hear, but still he had ears to hear.  He did not just write down the good and leave off the evil or bad things that happened.  Before I end this paragraph I want to say this; you never know who your writing are for.  Some of your writings may be personal and just for you, while others may be for someone else too!  God will use you to reach the world, through whatever gift you render available.  If your gift is writing expect it to be used.  You never really know who you are writing for, IS IT REALLY FOR YOU???

I hope this testimony has been a blessing to you!  Journaling is one of the many things that has blessed me in my walk and has also kept me from saying, “Did I pray or not? Was my prayer really heard?”  With it written I could really see, whether or not Jesus heard me!  I pray to God that this practice will make you and your faith even stronger!!!    Don’t forget it’s all in the name of JESUS CHRIST!!!  God Bless!!!  Samuel

Praise Him!!!  Just thought I would share one of my songs with everyone.  I have been working on putting this one to music and it is coming along great!!!    It is a worship song that speaks of God’s cleansing power and how a heart after God will seek these things. Be blessed and feel free to let me know what you think of the words.

Are miracles for today???

Before I post my blog on miracles I want to see how many comments I get on your beliefs in miracles.  Some people like doctors say miracles are minor or are not miracles at all.  What do you think?  Do miracles exist today???  What do you believe???

Praise Him and welcome to the new blogs, new thoughts the new hopes and the new desires of Samuel…the Worshiper!  I have gone through so much and have a desire to write about it to share with others the things that a worshiper endures and overcomes.  I did not sleep well lastnight, because of my temptations…some things are easy to overcome and others are a hard fight!  But whether we pass or fail the tests we face, if we get back up we shall be overcomers.  I have tried to do things the way I should praying not to go through some desires and some trials. and God has shown me if He answered those prayers; some of my other prayers will be voided out.  So, I, like others get the same answers that God gave the Apostle Paul…My grace is sufficent.  Thank God for His grace because in all our ways, He hasn’t cut us off.  It is like He said in Isaiah…in all this His hand was still out streached.  The heart of a worshiper is not always saying; deep calleth unto deep…sometimes it cries for help, it cries in hurt, it cries in shame, it wonders if it will ever be good enough.  The heart cries to God for deliverance and waits for what seems a lifetime for an answer, yet all it hears is silence.  It hopes it prays, it fasts and seeks to be what God created it to be and yet sometimes fails.  I hope that by sharing my heart, that others will know that they are not alone.  We all struggle and share common temptations, we ALL face the lust of the eyes, the lusts of the flesh and the pride of life.  We all face ourselves!!!  We are our worst enemy and some never win the battle cause they don’t understand that their desires are not wrong, but are used in an manor that is wrong.  The desires of the worshipers are for the most part from God, yet we often never get told how to use them to give God glory.  We just go through them and often fail.  I have failed many times over and over to the same desire…I hear to avoid it…yet don’t know how.  I just pray for deliverance and keep walking on with God.  Through the heart of a worshiper I  hope to inspire others to press on and seek God for answers to their struggles.  All saints struggle with things, their is no struggle greater than another.  We cannot compair ourselves one to another, we will always come up short or built up with pride; thinking we are stronger than another.  All sin is equal and all temptations are likewise equal.  Temptations have one purpose…to prove God’s people.  You could say they are there to destroy God’s people and again God will say different, they are to bring Him glory, for He has said that with every temptation He has made a way of escape.  And for us that is the hardest part…finding the way of escape!  Here in my heart is a purpose I have to fulfill and that is to help others and myself to find the WAY OF ESCAPE!!!  So read on and see if God has lit the path way of escape in your trials and temptations through the heart of a Worshiper!!!

a yearning heart

A yearning heart; written by Samuel on 10/1/07

I am a man with a yearning heart, for a love that seems to never come,

I dream of being together with someone and not being…alone,

I dream of a future with a wife, Not the emptiness of a single life.

I am tired of looking and being let down, I hate feeling like a desperate man,

Hopelessly wondering if my wife I will ever find, If God wills I will find the wife of His design.

I search and I search for you, my wife to find, My heart is yearning, to be with You,

Yet, I don’t even know who I am writing this to, Will you read it and know it to be you,

I hope and I pray, that YOU, God lets me find, You constantly stay on my mind,

I want to see you, I want to know you, I want to hold you, I want to love you,

When will I find, that thing my heart is yearning for, When will I find your heart with mine,

I don’t know, but until then…

I am just a man with…a yearning heart.
